¥2,500
Silk Hakata-ori datejime. Hakata is the name of an area with a long history of producing strong woven fabrics used for both obi and date-jime. Hakata-ori is a very strong weave consisting of a very large number of thin warp threads with thicker wefts creating a typical "ribbed" texture. Most "traditional" date-jime feature a basic line design and/or a repeating pattern of stylized Buddhist symbols.
It creates a smooth flat area for the obi-ita and obi. These data-jime are made by one of the few remaining producers in Hakata.
