Extendible kimono hanger. Kimono and haori should be stored folded but after wearing it is best practice to dust off your kimono and air it overnight to get rid of moisture this is where a hanger comes in handy. If kimono are stored for longer periods of time it is also good practice to air them once in a while overnight out of direct sunlight. A hanger can also come in handy when preparing to dress.

The hanger has a second stage that allows you to hang an obi or himo.

When not extended the hanger is "shoulder-width" so that a kimono can hang with the front and back panels straight. Extended it fits the entire width of most kimono (for larger kimono depending on the actual width, the tip of the sode might drape a bit). The extendable (telescoping) parts do not lock in place, but can easily be closed even with the kimono on them.

You can hang the kimono with the arms closed, reach into the arm and pull out the hanger to the correct size. The tip of the hanger is square to make it easy to grab and pull

It works perfect to dry a washable kimono or yukata, and because it is a "plastic hanger" it can safely be used without worrying about the material reacting with the fabric.

The metal hook is strong enough to hold two kimono.

I own and have tried several kimono hangers and while I prefer something made from wood or bamboo, there seems to be nothing new easily available on the market. I picked this model to add to the selection of kistuke tools. I will ship it in its original box. Because of the size it is a little harder to combine shipping but some smaller (kitsuke) items might fit inside the hanger box, let me know if you would like to combine it with other items for the actual shipping costs.
