Vintage reversible bokashi (gradation)/komon silk douchugi (kimono coat). One side (the main side) of the coat has a bokashi (gradation) coloring with a dark red/brown base with yellow, red, and green patches. The reverse side has a dark red/brown fine abstract komon print/pattern on a white background. The coat has rounded sleeves (sode).

A douchugi (or dochugi) is a Japanese kimono coat that closes left over right like a kimono. Douchugi are closed at the side using ties (himo in Japanese). Depending on the material and pattern of the douchugi it can be worn either casual or formal.

In combination with western clothes, douchugi coats can be worn as-is, like a light jacket or a short housecoat. Depending on the pattern and design you can create a unique formal or casual look.
